Summertime Tips for Back Pain Prevention

Summer is finally here, and however you spend this season: tending to household projects, or hitting home runs at neighborhood softball games, we have some winning strategies to keep back pain from spoiling warm weather fun. After the long winter months, most of us cannot wait to spend some quality time outdoors. Whatever your plans may be, back pain doesn’t have to ruin your summer plans. Follow these helpful tips and you will be healthy and happy during what is arguably the best season.

  1. Practice perfect posture

As Dr. Ryan likes to say, posture is the window to the spine. Correct posture can help you avoid back injuries and reduce back pain.

  1. Get regular chiropractic checkups

Chiropractic care is centered on spinal health. By eliminating subluxations, chiropractic allows your body to heal itself. Consistent chiropractic visits help patients stay healthy and pain-free all summer long!

  1. Exercise

Physical activity is key to preventing all types of back pain. Exercise, especially that of the core muscles, including the abdominals and backs-supporting paraspinals is very important. Core strengthening stabilizes the spine and helps prevent injury.

  1. Enjoy!

Most importantly, get out and enjoy the summer! By taking just a few simple precautions, you can keep back pain at bay all summer long.
